The decision is taken to have JamboMama! rebuilt by a Dutch company. Though programmed correctly, the software used was outmoded. The app is still used in Tanzania, mainly as a source of information for pregnant women, but not as an integrated part of the rural pregnancy surveillance and maternal health care system. The founders will bear the cost of this rebuild.
Awaiting the renewed JamboMama! app, the information about pregnancy in the app is shown on a flat screen in video form in the patient waiting areas. Peer support through group sessions is proven to be very effective for uptake of pregnancy advice, so even when the app is back into circulation, such projections with discussion will be kept up for practical and cultural reasons.
