In East Congo our representative Emile has completed his first project working mostly with a semi-rural health centre near Bukavu. When women come for ante-natal consultation, exposing themselves to great danger and difficulty to reach there, they count on our man to be there to show them what their unborn baby looks like now and what is happening to themselves and receive his advice. When there is poor connexion or the app has a hiccup, they are disappointed.
Emile and his team will have the honour and challenge to assist another NGO in Bukavu to test the app in the health facilities this NGO lends technical and financial support to. We will then also do a proper study jointly of the impact of the app, tracking the women and girls’ customer journey with the app, what it does for them in terms of greater pregnancy security and giving them a feeling of agency.
